The structure was fashioned from twigs of alder and birch, like an enormous basket, a
humorous imitation of Shukov’s Radio Tower in Moscow. Antenna on the top is made of bicycle wheels following local tradition of receiving TV signal.
The tower was equipped with numerous amount of boxes with fertile soil, so next summer the whole structure was covered with greenery and vegetables. All the harvest was took to the art-festival, where cooked been served to the visitors of “Nikola-Lenivets” Field Camp within Art Bazaar.
Tradionally shovertide in Russia is celebrated by burning a symbol of winter. With a help of performance artist German Vinogradov, Media Tower was burnt, attending more then 5 000 visitors. This event initiated tourist movement to the abandoned village of Nikola-Lenivets as a center of modern culture and art.
